My favorite question has always been "So what?"
I'm sure this habit annoyed a few teachers along the way, but I have never been satisfied with simple explanations to complex questions. I need to know what I can do with the information, what conclusions can be drawn, what actions can or should be taken, whether or not the data tells the whole story. As a data analyst, I have the satisfying role of turning overwhelmingly large collections of data points into actionable insights.
When I'm not busy fine tuning the code behind my latest visualization or sifting through the CDC's flu activity data, I like to spend my time homebrewing, taking on overly difficult hiking trails, catching up on public health journal articles, and diving into fantasy sports analytics.
